The April 20, 2010 is the date on which each year since 2007 is promoted World Declaration in Defence of the Night Sky and the Right to Starlight for adoption at all levels, governments, organizations, municipalities, associations and individuals.
On April 20, 2007, during the first international conference Starlight, supported by the IAC, UNESCO, IAU, UNWTO, MAB, RB de La Palma, CBD and CMS, was agreed to promote each year the World Night in Defence of the Starlight, claiming this dimension of cultural heritage, environmental and science for humanity. Each year at this time reminds us of the need to preserve our right to enjoy the starry skies contamplación the need to take measures to prevent their disappearance.
